Alexander Matz, MSPT, OCS, Founder & President
Alexander Matz, founder and President of Matz Physical Therapy, is a graduate of the University of Miami Physical Therapy program. Alex is a member of a small group of distinguished therapist who have received the American Physical Therapy Association title of Orthopaedic Certified Specialist. He completed all courses of Physical Therapy Institute's Manual Therapy certification program and John Barnes' Myofascial Release program. Alex received Polestar's Pilates Rehabilitation Certification in 2002. He has lectured extensively on Spine and Sports rehabilitation. Alex has a Master's degree in Health Care Administration.
Erin Weinbrum, MSPT
Erin attended the University of Delaware and graduated in 1996 with a BS in Exercise Physiology/Fitness Management. She then moved to Florida and attended the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences, graduating in 2000 with a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy. She moved to Boca Raton following graduation, and then to Miami in 2001, when she began working at Matz PT. She received her Pilates certification through Polestar Pilates, and focuses in Pilates based rehabilitation and manual therapy.
Evaristo Rodriguez, PT, MHA, GCFP
Evaristo attended and graduated from University of Puerto Rico in 1985, Medical Science Campus. Following graduation from PT school, he moved to Miami establishing a successful hospital and outpatient based physical therapy practice for the past 25 years. Evaristo attended Barry University where he earned a Masters degree in Health Care Services. In addition, Evaristo has worked as a guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner since 1997, with experience in educating members of the community, fellow students/co workers / physical and occupational therapist via CEU classes in the state of Florida.
He is also experienced in Pilates rehab and neuro muscular re-education via conventional and alternative medicine strategies. As a meditator for the past 12 years, Evaristo is a firm believer in the connection between a healthy mind – spirit helping to manifest balance in the body.
Tracy L. Dunn, PT, CMT
Tracy is a graduate of Florida International University (Miami) where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy in 1998. Tracy began her practice at Jackson Memorial Hospital with primary focus on acute and traumatic orthopedic care. She then transitioned to an outpatient setting with Healthsouth where she earned her manual therapy certification through the Ola Grimbsy Institute. In 2008 she joined the Matz family and in 2009 graduated from Polestar’s Pilates based rehab training. Tracy specializes in “hands on” care.
Alexandra Terpos PT, DPT
Alexandra attended the University of Delaware and graduated in 2006 with both a BS in Exercise Physiology and a BA in Biology. Immediately following graduation, she head to Boston, MA, where she attended MGH Institute of Health Professions and earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2009. After completing her internship at Shaughnessy-Kaplan Rehab Hospital, she moved to Miami and began her work here at Matz Physical Therapy. She is a certified Pilates Instructor through Polestar Pilates and focuses in Pilates-based rehab.
Leni Rapp, PTA
Leni graduated from Miami Dade Community College as Physical Therapist Assistant in 1998 and right away started working here at Matz Physial Therapy. From 2002 to 2005 she lived in Austria where she worked in an Outpatient Rehab Center specialized in Sports Medicine. During that time she got certified in Manual Lymphatic Drainage. Upon return to Miami she came back to work here at Matz Physical Therapy. Since 2006 Leni is a certified Pilates Instructor through Polestar Pilates and focuses in Pilates-based rehab.
Ariel A. Ordonez, PTA
Ariel attended Miami Dade College Medical Campus, graduating in 1993 from the Physical Therapists Assistant program. Ariel continued on attending Florida International University completing a Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Service Administration. He has been in practice for 18 years, specializing in areas of Orthopedic and Sports Medicine. Ariel has been working at Matz for the past 4 years where he has further expanded his knowledge in area of Pilates based Physical Therapy, obtaining a Pilates for Rehab Certification through Polestar Pilates.
